HHC

Hexahydrocannabinol, also known as HHC, is a hemp-derived cannabinol created by adding hydrogen molecules to THC in a process known as hydrogenation. While this substance is a unique by-product of hydrogenation, the process used to make it is similar to the method used with food products, such as converting vegetable oil to margarine.

A cannabinoid is a chemical substance found in the cannabis plant, and scientists have found that the Cannabis plant produces anywhere from 80 to 100 cannabinoids. Some of the most common cannabinoids are cannabidiol, CBD, and delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol or THC.

Terpenes are a group of compounds found in nature responsible for the aromas, flavors, and colors associated with them. These compounds are commonly found in plants and specific animals. Most standard drug tests look to detect specific metabolites in the body created when a person consumes THC. This theory stems from its molecular makeup not resembling THC, thus creating different metabolites, which would result in a negative read. This is only anecdotal and has not been scientifically proven.

Although HHC is not THC, consumption of it can produce similar effects, such as feelings of relaxation and comfort, an improved appetite, and better focus and concentration.
